a broken sun setting on an endless horizon
ocean boiling, tempering imagination
simmered to disfunction,
and then function.

beneath chaos, quietly
sanded planks tidied as a boardwalk
and skipping over the ordered lines-
infinite thought,
and then non-thought.

the seething.
heat bubbling up to meet the feet
the intimate.
skin guarded to withstand hot coals
the disaster.

tip toe with agility across the cracks
and then squander back
to dainty quarters.

never meeting,
never meeting.

a thread to weave the will-
fingers lingering on an un-sewn answer
unknowing, and again-
