What I am
What am I?
If I leave no trail-
if my existence dwindles…
Not for me to decide,
or you.
Or him, or her
or them.
I am human-
Grass between toes
Fire consuming heart
Water racing in veins
Air inflating lungs
Life is in me.
Interspecies conversation
Looks me in the eye,
communication is lost.
Some fragments are gleamed.
wiser
mind acquires new thoughts
imperceptible changes
wiser than before
Best excuse
Temper distasteful.
Might get away with it, though.
I am a redhead.
simplicity
simplicity wanes
slight impressions mocked without
interpretation
Rainy days
ink
I don’t write poetry-
My heart pumps ink through my veins and it bleeds out of my fingers to fill an empty page.
imperfection
why bother to look
perfection eludes us all
and who cares, really?
I’d like to return this
I went in to get a refund for your friendship but they said I’d already passed the 30 day policy. Then they refused when I asked if I could exchange you for credit.
You were in the bargain bin, a final sale, the one that sat for years and didn’t budge on the shelf. Collecting dust.
How did I end up with you?
I’d donate you, but I’d feel bad knowing about your personality dysfunction.
What to do?
what to do…
