If I did not dance today,
does that mean I’m not a dancer?
I’ll wake up,
like they say not to
everyone’s guilty pleasure
so that they’ll call me an artist
to send the blood to my fingers and toes
rigorously until my body cannot withstand
my energy donned in droves
so that no can can dispute
no one can deny
sacrifice my life to prove and
call myself dancer.
They’ll have to agree.

If I did not write today, does that mean I am not a writer? I love your poem.
Thank you for reading, and thank you for taking the time to comment. xoxo
a writer writes
is the admonition, so
the dancer must dance.
(or stand straight)
Very powerful. I can feel the physicality in your choice of words. If you dance as well as this poem is written, it must be quite a sight to behold!
Nice poem, very strong emotions in your words. Understand who you are, and then just be you.
Aye! A dancer & a poet!
This is an incredible poem, full of verve and cheek! Thank you!
I love this. I’ll bet you are a wonderful dancer, too ! Very impressive poetry.
